Learning non-standard unit

Kids are exploring non-standard unit. Non -standard unit of 

measurement is one that isn`t fixed. My kids  had a chance to 

practice measuring individually. They learned how to work end to 

end to find the length of an object. Placing one cube next to 

another, using feet they enjoyed non - standard unit concept.
